Role Overview:

Wynnstay Group is seeking a commercially driven poultry professional to join our team in Poultry Sales and Technical Support, combining practical expertise with a proactive approach to growing sales and building lasting customer relationships.

You'll drive the profitable growth of poultry feeds, pullets, associated products and equipment within your designated trading area. By understanding the needs of individual producers, you'll identify new business opportunities, strengthen existing relationships and promote the wider range of Wynnstay products and services.

Alongside your commercial responsibilities, you'll provide a trusted on-farm presence, sharing technical knowledge and offering practical support to customers. From assisting with the arrival of new pullet flocks to supporting compliance activities, you'll help producers manage their poultry enterprises with confidence.

Working closely with sales colleagues and the wider Wynnstay team, you'll combine independent account management with a collaborative approach to delivering sales targets, improving margins and increasing market share.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with practical poultry experience, strong relationship-building skills and commercial ambition who enjoys working directly with farmers and wants to contribute to the growth of an established agricultural business.

Responsibilities:

  • Retaining and growing poultry product sales through proactive selling and customer engagement within your designated trading area.
  • Achieving budgeted sales volumes and margins across poultry feeds, pullets, associated products and equipment.
  • Developing strong farm-level relationships, understanding customer needs and identifying opportunities to increase business.
  • Identifying and pursuing new customers, implementing sales activities that support sustained revenue growth.
  • Providing knowledgeable technical support to existing customers and acting as a reliable point of contact for poultry-related enquiries.
  • Maintaining a regular on-farm presence to support customers purchasing Wynnstay poultry feeds and pullets.
  • Assisting producers and customers with the safe loading, delivery and arrival of new pullet flocks.
  • Supporting customer compliance activities, including assistance with swabbing requirements.
  • Promoting the wider Wynnstay product and service offering, working with colleagues to maximise opportunities across the Group.
  • Supporting sales colleagues on farm when required, sharing knowledge and contributing to team performance.
  • Maintaining accurate customer records and completing ledger management and reporting activities.
  • Monitoring and promptly reporting operational risks or irregularities to senior management.

What we're looking for:

Essential:

  • Practical on-farm poultry experience and a strong understanding of the poultry sector and its supply chain.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of developments within the agricultural industry.
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities, developing customer relationships and growing sales.
  • A strong commitment to customer service, with the ability to offer credible, practical support at farm level.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • The confidence to present technical information clearly and accurately to a range of audiences.
  • An approachable, professional manner and the confidence to represent Wynnstay positively.
  • The ability to work independently within a designated trading area while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Good IT and record-keeping skills to support customer account management, ledger management and reporting.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in agricultural sales, particularly poultry feeds, pullets or associated products and equipment.
  • Experience managing customer accounts and working towards sales volume and margin targets.
  • Experience supporting pullet flock loading, delivery and placement.
  • Familiarity with poultry compliance activities, including swabbing procedures.
