PQ Accountant

Anderson Knight is proud to partner with its client, a well-established and growing organisation, to recruit a Part Qualified Accountant to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a part qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career and develop their experience within a varied and commercially focused finance role.

Working as part of the wider finance function, the successful candidate will take responsibility for a range of accounting activities, supporting the production of accurate financial information and helping to ensure the smooth running of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities
•    Prepare and support the production of monthly management accounts.
•    Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
•    Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments and other adjustments.
•    Complete regular balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
•    Assist with the preparation of financial reports and analysis.
•    Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
•    Monitor and analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
•    Assist with cash flow reporting and forecasting where required.
•    Support the preparation of year-end accounts and audit requirements.
•    Liaise with internal departments to resolve financial queries and provide financial information.
•    Ensure financial records are accurate, complete and maintained in line with company procedures.
•    Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency within the finance function.
•    Provide support to other members of the finance team as required.
About You
We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused accountant who is looking to continue developing their career. You will ideally be part qualified or actively studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification such as ACCA or CIMA.
You should have a solid understanding of accounting principles and be comfortable working across a range of finance activities. The role would suit someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in producing accurate work and is keen to develop their technical and commercial understanding.
You will also be confident communicating with colleagues at different levels and able to manage your workload effectively in a busy environment.

Key Skills and Experience
•    Part qualified or actively studying towards ACCA or CIMA 
•    Previous experience in a general accounting or finance role.
•    Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
•    Experience of month-end accounting, journals and reconciliations.
•    Experience preparing or assisting with management accounts.
•    Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
•    Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
•    Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
•    Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
•    A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
