PQ Assistant Finance Manager

Anderson Knight is delighted to be partnering with an established haulage business in Glasgow to recruit an Assistant Finance Manager.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing business where you'll take ownership of key finance activities and support senior management with accurate financial reporting and commercial insight. The role would suit an experienced finance professional looking to play an important part in a busy and successful organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts.
• Lead month end reporting, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Monitor cash flow and financial performance.
• Produce financial reports and analysis for senior management.
• Oversee VAT returns and statutory compliance.
• Improve finance processes and controls where required.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to support decision making.
• Support and develop the finance team.

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess

• currently studying towards completing ACCA/CIMA/ICAS
• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Senior Finance role.
• Strong knowledge of management accounting and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
• Proficient in Excel and finance systems.
