Practice Accountant in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire

A highly successful accountancy firm, commutable from Derby, Burton-on-Trent, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Lichfield and Uttoxeter are looking to hire an Accounts Semi Senior / Senior into their Accounts team.

The firm are ideally looking for a Semi Senior, Part Qualified or AAT qualified candidate, with the role primarily focusing on bookkeeping and basic accounts preparation work. Candidates who are studying towards an accountancy qualification or have relevant practice experience are encouraged to apply.

The level of the position can be flexible, with the opportunity potentially progressing to Accounts Semi Senior / Senior level for the right candidate, with responsibilities and salary adjusted accordingly.

Clients are likely to include sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, LLPs and charities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping for a range of clients
• Preparation of basic year-end accounts
• Assisting with accounts preparation and general practice work
• Liaising with clients to resolve queries
• Assisting with tax computations where appropriate
• Supporting more senior members of the team with accounts and audit work where applicable
• Opportunity to become involved in additional areas of work as experience develops
