The below job description will outline this position of: Pre-Preg Laminator - Marine
Typically, this person will manufacture high-quality composite components for marine applications using pre-preg materials. Working from technical drawings and laminate schedules, you will prepare tooling, carry out accurate lay-up and vacuum bagging, and prepare components for curing.

Duties and responsibilities of the Pre-Preg Laminator:
- Prepare moulds and tooling, ensuring surfaces are clean and release agents are correctly applied.
- Cut, position and lay up pre-preg materials in accordance with drawings, ply orientations and laminate schedules.
- Work with carbon fibre and other specified composite materials to manufacture marine components.
- Carry out debulking and vacuum bagging, checking bag integrity and resolving leaks before curing.
- Prepare components for oven or autoclave curing in accordance with production instructions.
- Demould completed components and carry out trimming and finishing as required.
- Inspect work throughout production, identifying and reporting defects or deviations.
- Follow material storage, handling and out-life requirements, maintaining accurate production records.
- Maintain a clean working environment and follow health and safety procedures.
- Previous hands-on experience in pre-preg composite laminating.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, laminate schedules and work instructions.
- Experience with vacuum bagging, debulking and mould preparation.
- Understanding of fibre orientation, material handling and contamination control.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Previous marine, yacht-building or boatbuilding experience would be advantageous.
- Relevant composite manufacturing qualifications or apprenticeship training would be beneficial.
