Aeropeople are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experiencedPrepress Team Leaderto join their growing packaging printing operation in Lithuania.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced printing professional to take on a key role in developing a new prepress team and helping establish processes and quality standards for a brand-new, state-of-the-art production facility.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of prepress and sheetfed offset printing with the ability to support, train and develop other team members.
Experience within folding carton or paper packaging production is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, organise and support the day-to-day activities of the prepress team.
- Coordinate and improve prepress workflows from customer requirements through to print production.
- Work closely with press operators and production teams to ensure files, colour and print specifications are correctly prepared for production.
- Maintain and develop prepress and print quality standards.
- Establish effective quality control procedures to ensure consistent colour and print quality.
- Coordinate the calibration and maintenance of prepress equipment, including CTP systems, printers and colour measurement equipment.
- Identify production and quality issues, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor workflow efficiency and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support, train and develop prepress team members.
- Provide technical guidance and share knowledge and best practice with less experienced specialists.
- Help establish processes, procedures and technical standards for the new production facility.
- Work closely with production and technical teams to ensure an efficient transition from prepress to print.
Technical & Printing Experience
The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience in sheetfed offset printing for folding carton / paper packaging.
Experience with the following would be particularly valuable:
- Heidelberg sheetfed offset printing presses
- Koenig & Bauer (KBA) printing presses
- Folding carton / paper packaging production
- Conventional and UV inks
- Conventional and UV coatings / varnishes
- High-speed sheetfed offset printing, ideally 18,000 sheets per hour or above
- Cold foil printing – a significant advantage
- Colour management and print quality control
- CTP and prepress workflows
- Calibration and colour measurement systems
- Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis within a print production environment
About You
We are looking for an experienced printing professional who has the technical knowledge to work confidently in a demanding production environment and the interpersonal skills to support and develop others.
You will ideally have:
- Several years of relevant experience in offset printing, ideally within folding carton or packaging production.
- Strong practical knowledge of sheetfed offset printing processes and print quality requirements.
- Experience working in a high-speed production environment.
- A good understanding of prepress workflows and the relationship between prepress and press production.
- Experience leading, training, mentoring or supporting colleagues.
- A technical and analytical approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to identify production issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- A structured and organised approach to work.
- Relevant vocational or higher education in printing, print technology or a related field is desirable.
- Lithuanian language skills are highly desirable, particularly for candidates who will be responsible for training and developing other team members. However, there is some flexibility regarding language requirements for the Team Leader position.
