Press Brake Setter Operator

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate Amada Press Brake machines.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • Select and set the correct tooling for each job.
  • Carry out bending and forming operations to required specifications and tolerances.
  • Check completed components using appropriate measuring equipment.
  • Make adjustments to machine settings where required to maintain quality.
  • Ensure components meet drawing and customer requirements.
  • Work efficiently to production schedules and priorities.
  • Identify and report any quality or production issues.
  • Carry out basic machine checks and maintain a clean and safe working area.
  • Follow all company health & safety and security procedures.
  • Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to ensure production targets are achieved.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience operating and setting Press Brake machines.
  • Experience using Amada Press Brakes.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Good understanding of measurements, tolerances and component specifications.
  • Ability to work accurately and independently.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong awareness of health & safety within a manufacturing environment.
  • British citizenship, due to MOD contractual/security requirements associated with the role.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers and angle gauges.
  • Experience working with a variety of materials and thicknesses.

Working Hours

37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday – 7:30am to 4:30pm
