The Role As a Hydraulic Press Setter/Operator, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality precision sheet metal components while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate hydraulic presses ranging from 50 to 800 tonnes
- Install, change and adjust tooling, dies and machine settings
- Manufacture high-quality precision sheet metal components to specification
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions
- Perform first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
- Work with a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel and aluminium
- Support tooling trials and new product introduction activities
- Ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery schedules are achieved
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
- Proven experience setting and operating hydraulic or mechanical presses
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience carrying out tooling and die changeovers
- Knowledge of draw tools and wipe-form tooling
- Experience using measuring equipment and quality inspection techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
