We are currently hiring a Press Department Supervisor to join a leading manufacturer. This role involves supervising daily production activities, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe working environment. The successful applicant will play a key role in driving efficiency and continuous improvement within the team.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am-4pm Friday 7am-1pm

Salary: £39,291

Type: Permanent

Location: Stourport, DY13

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the press brake team to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of press brake machines in accordance with specifications.
  • Ensure that KPI’s are monitored and targets achieved
  • Liaise and coordinate with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications
  • Deliver shift briefs with focus on quality, cost and delivery, and gathering ideas for improvement
  • Drive performance of team members, giving direction and feedback to aid good performance
  • Through the utilisation of lean manufacturing techniques, strive to exceed the Company targets in productivity, efficiency and quality on a continuous basis
  • support the implementation of engineering changes, production trials, model change and pilot build
  • Conduct incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure
  • Report and act upon plant or machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians
  • Feedback to the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure all external and internal auditory standards and improvement requirements are met
  • Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures

Experience

  • Familiarity with tooling setup and operation of press brake machinery.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
  • Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Sage 200
