Press Toolmaker

Red Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Press Tool Maker to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Redditch.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Tool Maker to join a busy tool room, working on the manufacture, maintenance and repair of precision press tools used in high-volume production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Building, maintaining and repairing press tools
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and refurbishment of tooling
• Diagnosing and repairing tooling faults to minimise production downtime
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Operating conventional tool room machinery, including milling, turning and grinding equipment
• Supporting production with tool changeovers and breakdowns
• Ensuring all tooling is maintained to the highest quality standards
• Following Health & Safety procedures at all times

Requirements:

• Time-served Tool Maker or recognised engineering apprenticeship
• Previous experience building and maintaining press tools
• Competent using manual milling, turning and grinding machines
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

• Experience with Wire EDM (wire erosion)
• CNC machining experience
• Background in precision engineering, metal pressings or toolmaking
