Prevention Worker

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people aged 10–17 who have offended or are at risk of entering the criminal justice system. You'll play a key role in delivering targeted interventions, helping young people make positive choices and reduce the risk of offending and anti-social behaviour.

• Pay: £16.62 per hour
• Contract: 3+ months
• Start Date: ASAP

As a Prevention Worker, you will:

• Undertake assessments of young people referred to the Youth Justice Prevention Team.
• Develop and deliver tailored intervention plans to address offending and anti-social behaviour.
• Build positive, supportive relationships with young people and their families.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
• Participate in occasional evening and weekend work as required.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Experience working with vulnerable, disaffected or at-risk children and young people.
• Knowledge of the Youth Justice or Criminal Justice system.
• Understanding of restorative justice and restorative approaches.
• Experience completing assessments and delivering targeted intervention plans.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively within a multi-agency environment.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence.
• Access to a suitably insured vehicle.
• Willingness to undertake occasional evening and weekend work.
