Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join supportive mainstream schools across Barnet, London.

We are looking for proactive and caring individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with their learning and development. This is a mainstream school-based role, where you will work alongside teachers to support pupils in the classroom, either individually, in small groups or as part of the wider class.

There may also be opportunities to provide additional support to pupils with SEND, including pupils with autism or other additional needs. This could involve 1:1 support where required, alongside supporting the wider classroom.

The schools place a strong emphasis on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, so you will play an important role in helping pupils build confidence, stay engaged and make progress academically and personally.

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have a genuine passion, enthusiasm and commitment to working with children and young people.
  • Be confident supporting pupils with their learning in a mainstream classroom environment.
  • Have previous experience working with children, ideally within an education, care, youth work or support setting.
  • Be willing and able to support pupils with SEND and additional needs, including potentially providing 1:1 support.
  • Be patient, approachable, proactive and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Be committed to helping pupils achieve their academic, social and personal development goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroom.
  • Providing individual and small-group support to pupils where required.
  • Supporting pupils with their learning and helping them remain engaged in lessons.
  • Potentially providing 1:1 support to pupils with SEND or additional needs.
  • Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
  • Supervising pupils inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assisting with lesson preparation, activities and learning resources.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and school staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

When working with Empowering Learning Ltd, you will benefit from:

  • A dedicated consultant with extensive experience, focused on finding you the right role and school setting and supporting you throughout your assignment.
  • Competitive pay rates based on your experience.
  • A quick and straightforward clearance process, with most steps completed online.
  • The possibility of securing a permanent contract with the school.
  • Access to complimentary online training to support your professional development.
