Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to join a primary school in Bristol supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH) from September 2026.

This is a rewarding but demanding role iin a specialist setting within a school. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have complex special educational needs, requiring patience, flexibility, and strong behaviour-management skills.

About the Role:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their individual learning targets.
Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of children, promoting confidence and independence.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning and support plans.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

Experience working in primary school
Previous experience supporting children with SEND
An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
References covering the last 24 months
