Aspire People are currently recruiting for a kind, bubbly and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join a supportive resource base within a mainstream primary school in Moseley. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA or someone with relevant SEND experience who is passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive.
The resource base supports KS1 children with learning and communication needs, many of whom are non-verbal and communicate through alternative methods. The successful candidate will work closely with the children to support their communication, learning, social development and emotional wellbeing, helping them to engage with activities and access the wider school environment.
The school is particularly looking for someone with a warm, enthusiastic and nurturing personality who can build trusting relationships with children and bring positivity and energy to the classroom. Patience and understanding will be essential, as the children may require additional time, reassurance and encouragement when communicating their needs.
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience working with children in a primary, SEND or specialist setting.
Ideally have experience supporting children with communication difficulties, autism or complex learning needs.
Be confident supporting non-verbal children and using alternative communication methods where required.
Be kind, patient, bubbly and nurturing, with a genuine passion for working with children.
Have a calm and positive approach to supporting children who may struggle to communicate their emotions or needs.
Be enthusiastic about encouraging children's independence, communication and confidence.
Be able to work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team.
Be committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who wants to develop their SEND experience while making a meaningful difference to a group of young children. The successful candidate will become an important part of the resource-base team, providing consistent, compassionate and engaging support throughout the school day.
The role is available to start ASAP and will run for the full academic year, making it ideal for someone seeking a stable, long-term placement.
If you are a kind, enthusiastic and nurturing Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs, Aspire People would love to hear from you!
