Primary Teaching Assistant in Sutton Coldfield

Bright Star Talent are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join an Outstanding Ofsted-rated primary school in Sutton Coldfield.

The school is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and wants to be part of a positive and supportive school environment. You’ll be working alongside experienced teachers and playing an important role in helping pupils get the most out of their day.

This would suit a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or someone with previous experience working with children who is looking for their next opportunity.

What will the role involve?

• Supporting the class teacher throughout the school day
• Working with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Helping children with their reading, writing and maths
• Encouraging pupils to take part in lessons and activities
• Providing extra support to children who may need it
• Helping pupils develop their confidence and independence
• Supporting positive behaviour within the classroom
• Assisting with classroom activities and preparation
• Building strong and positive relationships with pupils
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff

The person we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who is patient, approachable and reliable, with a genuine interest in helping children progress.

You don't need to have years of experience — the right attitude and ability to build positive relationships with pupils are just as important.

Previous experience in a primary school, nursery, childcare or similar setting would be beneficial.

Requirements

• DBS required
• Previous experience working with children is desirable
• Good communication skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Right to work in the UK
