Your new role
From September, the school requires a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide full-time support for a Year 6 pupil with SEMH needs. The pupil has a history of challenging behaviour and will require consistent, proactive support to help them successfully engage with learning and school life.
You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider pastoral team to implement behaviour strategies, build positive relationships and provide a stable, supportive presence throughout the school day.
What you'll need to succeed
- Recent experience supporting children with SEMH needs
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- A resilient, patient and consistent approach
- Experience working with pupils who display challenging behaviour
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
- A passion for supporting vulnerable children to achieve positive outcomes
