Help Young Learners Develop Confidence and Core Skills

We're looking for a Primary Tutor to support children across West Sussex through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide tailored educational support to primary-aged learners who require alternative provision or additional help to access learning. Many of the pupils we support benefit from a nurturing and engaging approach that helps develop confidence, strengthen core skills, and encourage positive engagement with education.

We're particularly interested in hearing from tutors based in or around:

  • Crawley
  • Worthing
  • Horsham
  • Chichester
  • Bognor Regis
  • Littlehampton

This is a rewarding opportunity to support young learners at a crucial stage of their educational journey while enjoying the flexibility of one-to-one tutoring.

  • Location: West Sussex
  • Key Stage: Primary (KS1 & KS2)
  • Start Date: September
  • Hours: Flexible
  • Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
  • Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
  • Experience supporting primary-aged children
  • Good understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and school avoidance
  • Speech, language, and communication needs
  • EHCPs and additional educational needs

Each learner receives a personalised programme designed to support both academic progress and personal development.
