Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced and reliable Face-to-Face Primary Tutor to support a student in the Scarborough area of North Yorkshire.

This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to a primary-aged learner who requires additional support to re-engage with education, rebuild confidence, and make meaningful progress in core subjects. Many of the pupils we support benefit from structured, consistent tuition outside of mainstream classroom settings.

The placement offers 15 hours of tuition per week. Sessions may take place in school, alternative provision, a community setting, or the learner's home (where appropriate), depending on individual needs. The role offers flexibility and can be tailored around your availability.

As a Face-to-Face Primary Tutor, you will:

• Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and wider primary curriculum areas
• Plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to the student's individual learning needs
• Support a learner who may have SEN, SEMH needs, or gaps in education
• Build positive, professional relationships to improve confidence and engagement
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
• Work independently while liaising with schools, local authorities, and support teams where required

• Be a qualified Primary Teacher (QTS preferred) or have substantial primary teaching/tutoring experience
• Be confident delivering English and Maths at Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2
• Demonstrate patience, adaptability, and a calm approach
• Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
• Have the legal right to work in the UK

£30-£35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
