Principal Air Quality Consultant
Portsmouth | £50,000 - £65,000 per annum
My client, an established environmental consultancy specialising in air quality and climate change, is seeking a Principal Air Quality Consultant to join its Southampton team, offering the opportunity to work on major development projects while becoming an important part of a growing environmental consultancy.
The work starts early - often when projects are still taking shape. You will be involved across site acquisition, master planning and planning, providing specialist air quality and climate change advice that can influence how developments progress. It is varied, commercially relevant work, with plenty of scope to bring your own experience and judgement to the table.
Benefits:
- Exposure to exciting, high-profile development projects
- Competitive salary
- Generous annual leave
- Genuine opportunities to develop professionally
- A supportive team where ideas and expertise are valued
- Hybrid working opportunities
- Competitive benefits package
- The chance to contribute to the continued growth of the consultancy
As Principal Air Quality Consultant, you will sit at the heart of project delivery, working with clients and wider project teams to provide clear, practical environmental advice.
Duties of a Principal Air Quality Consultant:
- Leading air quality and climate change work across development projects
- Providing specialist input from early-stage site acquisition and master-planning through to planning
- Developing strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Providing clear technical advice that helps inform development decisions
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality consultancy projects
- Sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues
- Contributing to the wider development and growth of the Southampton team
What you will need:
- Professional experience within air quality and/or climate change consultancy
- Good knowledge of the UK property, planning and development sector
- Strong technical and analytical capability
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Confidence working directly with clients and project teams
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the desire to contribute beyond your immediate project work
Desirable experience
Experience working on development projects through multiple stages of the planning process would be particularly useful, especially where you have been involved from early site acquisition or master-planning. Experience supporting colleagues, developing client relationships, or contributing to the commercial side of consultancy would also be advantageous.
If you are a Principal Air Quality Consultant who wants to be involved earlier, have greater influence over projects and work somewhere your expertise is genuinely recognised, please contact Sam Rees at Penguin Recruitment as this could be the next chapter you have been looking for.
