Principal Civil Engineer

Emtech Recruitment is currently working with a leading engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join their growing Leeds team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior or Principal-level engineer to take a key role within a multidisciplinary team, working on a varied range of projects across the built environment.

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will be involved in the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects, providing technical leadership and supporting the development of the wider engineering team.

Current projects include:

• Residential developments
• Commercial buildings
• Schools and hospitals
• Industrial projects
• Waste handling and recycling facilities
• Prison and public-sector buildings
• Decarbonisation and energy-related projects

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing and overseeing technical designs, calculations and specifications
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams
• Managing project delivery, priorities and resources
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other stakeholders
• Maintaining high technical and quality standards
• Supporting the continued growth and development of the Leeds team

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A degree or Master's qualification in Civil Engineering
• 10+ years' experience within civil and structural engineering
• Strong experience designing and delivering complex construction projects
• Chartered Engineer status, or be working towards Chartership
• Good knowledge of relevant design standards, codes and regulations
• Experience with industry-standard civil/structural engineering software
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• A proactive, self-motivated and collaborative approach
• A full UK driving licence
