Principal / Associate Electrical Engineer – Mission Critical Projects

Are you a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer looking to take the lead on some of the UK's most technically demanding data centre projects

I'm working with a highly regarded building services consultancy that has established itself as a leader in the mission critical sector. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of UK and international projects, they're looking to appoint an experienced Principal / Associate Electrical Engineer to help drive the expansion of their specialist team.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of hyperscale and colocation data centres, working alongside some of the industry's leading engineers on cutting-edge developments.

The Role

  • Lead the electrical design and technical delivery of complex data centre projects.

  • Manage projects across the full RIBA design lifecycle, from feasibility through to construction.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.

  • Lead design reviews, technical coordination, and quality assurance.

  • Mentor and develop junior and senior engineers within the team.

  • Support business development activities, client presentations, and bid submissions.

  • Drive innovation, resilience, sustainability, and energy-efficient design solutions across mission critical facilities.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.

  • Significant experience within Electrical Building Services consultancy.

  • Proven experience delivering mission critical/data centre projects (hyperscale, colocation or enterprise preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV distribution, standby generation, UPS systems, critical power infrastructure and resilience strategies.

  • Proficient with industry-standard design software including Revit, Amtech/Trimble ProDesign, Dialux/Relux and AutoCAD.

  • Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations, British Standards and CIBSE guidance.

  • Strong leadership, commercial awareness and client management skills.

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or actively working towards Chartership.
