Principal Fire Safety Engineer

Location: Cumbria
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 plus package. 

Please note: Due to the security requirements of this position, applications can only be accepted from candidates who hold sole UK nationality.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct independent fire safety inspections and surveillance.
• Assess compliance with UK fire safety legislation and management systems.
• Review fire prevention strategies and fire risk assessments.
• Assess readiness to progress major engineering and infrastructure projects through assurance hold points.
• Interpret engineering and safety documentation.
• Communicate inspection findings to stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and external regulators.

About you:

• Experienced fire safety professional with strong knowledge of UK legislation.
• Strong understanding of fire risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience working within complex or high-hazard environments.
• Able to interpret engineering and safety documentation.
• Confident engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders and regulators.
