Principal Data & Digital Solutions Lead

Contract | £400 per day | Inside IR35 | South West | Defence

We need a hands-on Data and Digital Solutions Lead who can turn complex engineering or operational problems into practical, working solutions.

The role

• Shape and deliver data and digital solutions from concept through to implementation
• Translate unclear requirements into robust technical designs
• Build solutions using Python, cloud and modern data technologies
• Apply AI, machine learning and automation to operational challenges
• Support digital-twin, data-platform and engineering-application development
• Lead technical delivery and engage confidently with senior stakeholders
• Ensure solutions meet strict defence security and governance requirements

What we need

• Strong data, digital or solution-architecture experience
• Hands-on Python and data engineering capability
• Experience with AI, machine learning, automation or digital twins
• Background in engineering, infrastructure, defence or another complex regulated environment
• Proven ability to take loosely defined problems through to working solutions
• Strong technical leadership and stakeholder-management skills
• Immediately available or on very short notice
• Able to work regularly on-site in the South West
