Print Finisher in Derby, Derbyshire

We are recruiting for an experienced Large Format Print Operator to join a busy and expanding production team in Derby.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced print professional looking to join a company that offers competitive earnings, overtime, training and genuine opportunities for progression.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality large format graphics across a range of exciting projects, using UV flatbed, UV roll-to-roll and Dye Sublimation printing technology.

Candidates with Team Leader or Supervisor experience are also encouraged to apply, as there are opportunities to take on additional responsibility as the team develops.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up and operating large format printing machinery

• Operating UV flatbed, UV roll-to-roll and Dye Sublimation printers

• Preparing and RIPing artwork files for production

• Using RIP software such as Caldera, Fiery and Onyx

• Working with Adobe Creative Suite

• Carrying out routine machine maintenance, cleaning and nozzle checks

• Monitoring print quality, colour consistency and registration

• Troubleshooting basic machine and production issues

• Assisting with finishing, including trimming, laminating and mounting

• Working to production schedules and deadlines

• Maintaining high standards of quality throughout the production process

• Keeping the production area clean, safe and organised

• Supporting other areas of the production team when required

We are looking for someone with previous experience in large format print, digital print or a similar production environment.

Ideally, you will have experience with:

• UV flatbed and/or roll-to-roll printing

• Dye Sublimation

• Large format digital print production

• RIP software such as Caldera, Fiery or Onyx

• Adobe Creative Suite

• Print finishing

• Working to tight production deadlines

Team Leaders and Supervisors with a strong technical print background are also welcome to apply.

You'll need a hands-on, flexible and reliable approach, with good attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a busy production environment.

A willingness to work overtime when required, including occasional Saturdays during particularly busy periods, is also important.

The role operates on a rotating shift pattern:

Monday-Thursday

• 6:00am - 2:30pm

• 11:30am - 8:00pm

Friday

• 7:30am - 4:00pm

A £1,200 annual shift allowance is paid in addition to the basic salary.

Due to the shift pattern, candidates should ideally live within approximately 30 minutes of Derby, although commutes of up to around 45 minutes may be considered.
