Job Title: Trainee to Experienced Digital Print Operator (Shift Work)

Salary: £35,179.14 (Training Rate) rising to £43,973.93 upon completion + Overtime at Time + 1/3
About the Business
We are recruiting on behalf of a highly successful, industry-leading manufacturing business known for producing high-quality print materials. Operating from state-of-the-art facilities, the business invests heavily in top-tier digital technology and ongoing employee development.
Due to continuous growth, they are seeking enthusiastic Machine Operators to join their busy Press department on a 24/7 Continental Shift Pattern.
The Role
Working as part of a two-person machine crew, you will operate modern, high-speed digital presses producing volume print runs.
Key responsibilities include:
Operating digital press equipment following digital and paper work orders.
Monitoring machine performance to maximize output and minimize downtime or waste.
Performing basic routine maintenance and machine setup/make-ready procedures.
Adhering to high quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
Assisting with material handling and preparing printed work for downstream finishing.
Who We Are Looking For
Prior print experience is a bonus, but full comprehensive training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
Shift Experience: Proven track record working in a shift-based production, manufacturing, or fast-paced operational environment.
Reliability: Excellent timekeeping and attendance record.
Practical Mindset: Logical problem-solving skills and comfort working around industrial machinery.
Basic IT Skills: Comfort using basic computer interfaces to read work orders.
Physical Capability: Ability to handle materials and work a 12-hour continental shift pattern (6am to 6pm / 6pm to 6am).
Pay & Benefits
Training Salary: Starts at £16.81/hr (£35,179.14 per annum) during your initial structured training period.
Post-Training Salary: Increases to £21.01/hr (£43,973.93 per annum) upon successful completion of your training plan and key performance indicators (KPIs) covering attendance, quality, and machine operation.
Overtime: Paid at Time + 33% (Time and a third) for all additional hours worked.
Annual Leave: 24 days annual leave (inclusive of shutdown periods over Christmas/New Year).
Development: Full structured training program on high-tech digital machinery.
