Hays is recruiting Project Escorts to support major construction, refurbishment, and maintenance projects across prisons in South East London. The Role
As a Project Escort, you will be responsible for supervising contractors and construction teams working within the prison estate. You'll act as a key link between prison staff, facilities teams, and contractors, ensuring all work is carried out in line with strict security and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities

• Escort contractors and construction teams throughout the prison site.
• Book in and monitor all personnel, vehicles, tools, and equipment entering and leaving the establishment.
• Carry out security checks and maintain accurate records of tools and materials.
• Monitor contractor activity and ensure compliance with prison rules and security protocols.
• Liaise with prison staff, facilities management teams, and contractors to coordinate access requirements.
• Maintain clear communication via radio and keep accurate movement logs.
• Report any security concerns, breaches, or suspicious activity immediately.
• Maintain professionalism at all times while respecting the rights and dignity of prisoners.

Reliable, trustworthy, and punctualSecurity-conscious with excellent attention to detailTeam players with a proactive approach to work
Previous experience in security, supervision, facilities management, construction, customer service, the armed forces, prison services, or similar environments is beneficial but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
