Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive / Fee Earner in Harrogate

We are looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor, Legal Executive or Fee Earner to join our team and manage a full caseload of private client matters. 

The Role

• Will drafting and advising on wills
• Inheritance Tax planning
• Trust creation and administration
• Powers of Attorney
• Court of Protection applications
• Probate and estate administration
• Advising clients throughout the full lifecycle of their matters
• Maintaining strong client and third-party relationships
• Generating referrals and contributing to business development activities

• Manage all aspects of private client work to a high professional and client-care standard
• Progress matters efficiently and accurately, keeping clients regularly updated on progress and costs
• Maintain accurate time recording and work towards agreed billing and performance targets
• Maintain confidentiality and security of all client and firm documentation
• Use the firm's case management system effectively to manage and progress matters
• Take responsibility for credit control on your own matters, with support from the Accounts team
• Ensure compliance with relevant professional regulations, including the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and Code of Conduct
• Develop positive relationships with external organisations and professional referrers

Skills & Experience

• Experience handling a private client caseload
• Strong knowledge of wills, probate and estate administration
• Experience with Powers of Attorney and/or Court of Protection work
• Experience with trusts and inheritance tax planning would be advantageous
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities
• Excellent attention to detail
• A professional and client-focused approach
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using case management systems
