SOAR Recruitment is currently working with families across London and the South East who are looking for caring, reliable nannies to support their children at home.

We are seeking a caring and responsible Babysitter/Nanny to provide attentive childcare for families in the local community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about child development, reliable, and capable of creating a safe and nurturing environment. This role offers an opportunity to support children's growth through engaging activities and personalised care, ensuring parents can have peace of mind while they are away. Fluency in English is essential, with additional language skills such as French considered a valuable asset.

We have a mix of full-time, part-time, temporary and long-term roles, with placements ranging from sole-charge care to shared care and after-school support.

The role

As a nanny, you will play a key part in a child’s daily routine, providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities to promote learning and development
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks suitable for children’s dietary needs
  • Assist with homework or educational activities, including teaching basic skills in English and French if applicable
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols
  • Organise playdates, outings, or trips to local parks and recreational facilities
  • Maintain a clean and organised environment, including tidying up toys, clothes, and personal belongings
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s behaviour, progress, and any concerns
  • Drive children to school, extracurricular activities, or appointments as required

Requirements

  • Proven experience in childcare or nannying roles
  • Valid driving licence with a clean driving record
  • Strong understanding of child safety standards and first aid knowledge is preferred
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French is a plus
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable nature with a genuine love for working with children
  • Ability to create engaging educational activities that foster learning and creativity
  • Reliable transportation means for driving children when necessary
