What you will be doing As a Probate Team Manager, you will oversee daily operations within the Probate department, ensuring the delivery of the firm's renowned service. You will lead and develop a team of Legal Advisors, ensuring targets are met, standards upheld, and clients receive compassionate, efficient support. Your role combines technical supervision with strategic leadership, working closely with other managers to optimise departmental performance.
  • Manage and motivate a team of up to 8 Probate Legal Advisors, fostering a positive, high-performing environment.
  • Set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs to support team development.
  • Provide technical supervision, reviewing cases and ensuring advice remains compliant and of high standard.
  • Monitor workflow, manage client expectations, and address any service issues promptly.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, recruitment, and client service strategies.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to SRA regulations and internal legal standards.
  • Support client complaint resolution and encourage feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge to guide team practice and ensure compliance with changing legislation.

  • Qualified Solicitor (practising certificate current) or Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEx).
  • Significant experience in Wills and Probate law, with supervisory or managerial responsibility.
  • Strong coaching skills, with the ability to develop and motivate others effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to oversee multiple cases and team members.
  • Exceptional communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
