Ceto Talent is partnering with a leading engineering business to recruit a Process Design Engineer to support the delivery of innovative water and wastewater treatment projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in the water sector who enjoys solving technical challenges and wants to contribute to sustainable infrastructure that makes a real impact.
What you'll be doing:
✅ Supporting the design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment processes.
✅ Producing process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, mass balances and process sizing calculations.
✅ Developing process control philosophies and hydraulic calculations for gravity and pumped systems.
✅ Participating in HAZOP studies and multidisciplinary design reviews.
✅ Preparing technical documentation, reports and process specifications.
✅ Working closely with project managers and engineering teams to deliver compliant, efficient and innovative treatment solutions.
✅ Providing technical support, troubleshooting process issues and identifying opportunities for optimisation.
✅ Keeping up to date with new technologies and best practice across the water industry.
We're looking for someone with:
✔️ 3–5 years' experience in process engineering, ideally within the UK water or wastewater sector.
✔️ A strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies.
✔️ Experience producing process design documentation including PFDs, P&IDs and hydraulic calculations.
✔️ Knowledge of UK water industry regulations and environmental standards.
✔️ A degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
✔️ Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable:
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
- Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient treatment technologies.
