Elevation Recruitment Group are working with an established manufacturing business that is looking to appoint an experienced Process Engineer to support and develop its extrusion operation.

This is a hands-on technical position for someone who understands continuous manufacturing processes and enjoys turning process data and technical knowledge into measurable improvements on the shop floor.

As the Process Engineer:

You'll take a key role in developing, stabilising and improving extrusion processes, working closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering.

Your focus will include:

  • Developing and improving extrusion manufacturing processes
  • Establishing and maintaining process settings, standards and controls
  • Supporting new product introduction and the transition into production
  • Leading trials, process validation and capability work
  • Using production data to improve yield, scrap, throughput, efficiency and quality
  • Investigating process problems, defects and customer issues through structured root cause analysis
  • Identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects
  • Supporting the development of tooling, equipment and process improvements
  • Working with production teams to resolve day-to-day technical challenges
  • Developing practical manufacturing documentation and process controls
  • Supporting operator and technical team development
  • Contributing to wider safety, quality and environmental improvement activity

What we're looking for

We're interested in engineers who have a genuine process manufacturing background, ideally with direct experience of extrusion or a similar continuous production environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • HNC or above in an engineering or technical discipline
  • Proven experience in extrusion or continuous process manufacturing
  • Experience working with polymers / thermoplastics
  • A strong understanding of process optimisation and manufacturing quality
  • Experience using data to assess process capability and performance
  • Good knowledge of structured problem solving and root cause analysis
  • A practical, analytical approach and the confidence to work directly with manufacturing teams

Experience with extrusion tooling, dies, material flow, temperature control or downstream equipment would be particularly useful.
