Process Engineer

Are you an experienced Clean Water Process Engineer looking to play a key role in delivering critical water infrastructure projects across the UK?

We are seeking a technically strong engineer to join a growing engineering team, supporting the delivery of clean water treatment projects from concept and feasibility through to detailed design. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of process engineering activities, work closely with major UK water companies and contribute to the delivery of innovative, sustainable solutions within the water sector.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will lead clean water process design activities across multiple projects, providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you'll collaborate with engineers, project managers and clients to ensure designs are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.

You will also act as a key point of contact for clients, presenting technical solutions, supporting project delivery and mentoring junior engineers where required.

• Lead the delivery of clean water process design from concept through to detailed design.
• Produce and review process calculations, PFDs, P&IDs and technical specifications.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to process engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the technical lead on process engineering matters.
• Present engineering solutions and recommendations to clients and project stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with programme milestones, budgets and industry standards.
• Participate in design reviews, technical workshops and value engineering activities.
• Support business development activities, bids and proposals where required.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in clean water process engineering.
• Able to regularly travel to client offices (notably South East Water in Snodland, Kent).
• Proven experience delivering front-end and detailed design for UK water industry projects.
• A strong understanding of current UK clean water treatment processes, legislation and design standards.
• Experience leading process engineering activities within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high technical standards.

Ideally, you will also hold Chartered Engineer status (or be working towards it) through IChemE, IET, CIWEM or an equivalent professional institution.
