MERITUS are recruiting for Process & Performance Engineers to join a leading Aerospace Manufacturing organisation to support the optimisation of production operations within a complex manufacturing environment.

PROCESS & PERFORMANCE ENGINEER - BROUGHTON, FLINTSHIRE - 3 MONTH CONTRACT, LIKELY EXTENSION - £40.66 PER HOUR (INSIDE IR35) - 1 STAGE INTERVIEW - SECTOR: AEROSPACE MANUFACTURING

This role plays a key part in ensuring production sequences are designed and executed as efficiently as possible, supporting delivery performance, resource optimisation, and continuous operational improvement. Working closely with production, engineering, planning, and supply chain teams, you will provide valuable insight into manufacturing performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and help drive operational excellence across the production lifecycle.

The position combines analytical problem-solving with hands-on engagement on the shop floor, making it ideal for someone who enjoys improving processes while collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production sequencing and planning models to support efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Create and maintain line balancing data to optimise production flow and resource utilisation.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance metrics, identify performance gaps, and recommend improvement initiatives.
  • Analyse process inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve productivity and delivery performance.
  • Conduct value-added and non-value-added activity analysis to identify opportunities for process optimisation.
  • Support continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency and operational performance.
  • Work closely with production teams to provide technical support and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Translate manufacturing requirements into actionable improvements for engineering, design, and supply chain teams.
  • Assess the manufacturing impact of process, product, or configuration changes.
  • Maintain and improve standard time data and associated manufacturing databases.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing methods, processes, and digital tools.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to stakeholders on the effective use of manufacturing performance and planning tools.
  • Contribute to operational excellence initiatives and support a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the identification, investigation, and resolution of non-conformances within the manufacturing environment.


About You

Essential Experience

  • Experience within a manufacturing, production, or industrial engineering environment.
  • Experience delivering process improvement or operational efficiency projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using SAP within a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels.


Desirable Experience

  • Background as a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Lineside Engineer, or similar.
  • Experience supporting production planning, build sequencing, or manufacturing flow optimisation.
  • Knowledge of line balancing methodologies.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, complex manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with production performance measurement and improvement techniques.
