Procurement Lead in Witney

As Procurement Lead, you will combine hands-on procurement activities with longer-term supply chain development, helping to ensure materials are available when needed while continuously improving purchasing processes, supplier relationships and inventory management practices. Through a combination of strategic planning and operational involvement, you will help develop a more efficient, data-driven procurement function capable of supporting business growth.
 
The Procurement Lead will:
  • Lead the day-to-day performance of the procurement function and support purchasing activities where required.
  • Drive MRP accuracy, data integrity and purchasing process improvements.
  • Develop forecasting and inventory planning strategies to support production requirements.
  • Manage and develop supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, lead times and commercial terms.
  • Monitor procurement spends, supplier performance and purchasing KPIs.
  • Support supplier quality activities, NCRs and corrective action processes.
  • Lead procurement reviews, reporting activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
 
The Procurement Lead will have:
  • Strong experience within Procurement, Purchasing or Supply Chain in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and purchasing processes.
  • Experience with forecasting, inventory planning and supplier management.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Experience monitoring procurement spends and supplier performance.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, self-sufficient and results-driven approach.
 
Success in this role will come from balancing immediate operational needs with longer-term strategic improvements.
