Description
As Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that deliver commercial value and operational efficiency
Working closely with Head of Procurement as well as stakeholders across a wide range of business functions, including operations, finance, legal, IT, HR, and project teams, you will establish procurement as a trusted business partner and deliver solutions that support organisational growth and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Category Management & Strategic Sourcing
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, value creation, and supplier consolidation.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to inform sourcing decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes and activities.
- Support budget management through effective procurement planning and spend analysis.
Tendering & Procurement Delivery
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities across a range of spend categories.
- Manage tender processes from requirements gathering and market engagement through to supplier selection and contract award.
- Conduct commercial evaluations and supplier negotiations to secure best-value outcomes.
- Provide procurement expertise and guidance throughout project and business initiatives.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, governance standards, and relevant regulations.
- Support the development and implementation of procurement frameworks, processes, and controls.
- Monitor and manage procurement risks across the supply base.
- Deliver reporting on procurement performance, savings, supplier management and value delivery.
Supplier & Contract Management
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships that support business objectives.
- Drive supplier performance through effective contract and relationship management.
- Lead supplier review meetings and performance improvement initiatives where required.
- Support contract negotiations, renewals, and ongoing commercial management activities.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Act as a trusted procurement advisor and commercial partner.
- Influence decision-making and support business-wide procurement capability development.
- Promote procurement best practice and commercial awareness throughout the organisation.
Profile
A successful Procurement Manager should have:
You will be a confident and credible procurement professional with strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of delivering value end to end Indirect procurement's through strategic sourcing, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience operating as a Procurement Manager, Category Manager, Strategic Buyer, or similar procurement role (Indirect Spend).
- Worked in a complex environment sectors such as Industrial, Construction, Manufacturing, Utilities, Energy or FMCG
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end procurement and tender processes. You will need to be very strong on tenders processes
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Experience developing and implementing category strategies.
- Understanding of procurement governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Job Offer
- Salary range of circa £60,000 - £70,000 + car allowance + bonus
