Our client is looking for an experienced Product Design Manager to lead a team of Design Engineers, delivering new and existing product development projects from concept through to production. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for driving technical excellence, project delivery and continuous improvement while ensuring products meet customer, commercial and industry requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Design Engineers, Graduates and Apprentices
• Manage new and existing product design projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
• Oversee product development from concept through to manufacture, ensuring designs meet technical, quality and commercial requirements
• Review and approve engineering drawings, BOMs and design documentation
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Quality and other departments to deliver successful projects
• Drive value engineering, standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage project priorities, resources and stakeholder communication
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, customer specifications and health & safety requirements

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a Product Design Manager, Design Manager or Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role
• A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong leadership experience managing engineering or design teams
• Proficiency using 3D CAD software and producing engineering drawings and BOMs
• Experience designing engineered products for manufacture, ideally high-pressure equipment or similar
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM), GD&T, FEA and engineering calculations
• Excellent project management, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with MRP systems and quality management systems
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders

Working Hours and Benefits

• 7.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 7.30am to 1.30pm Friday
