Product Quality Assurance Technician – Fresh Produce

The Opportunity

Talent Agri is recruiting on behalf of a well-established fresh produce business for a Product Quality Assurance Technician to join their Quality Assurance team in the South of England.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QA Technician, Quality Controller or fresh produce professional looking to develop their career within a progressive and fast-paced fresh produce environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check and record the quality of incoming raw materials and products
  • Ensure products meet required quality and specification standards
  • Check product labelling and ensure accurate information is being used
  • Ensure current product specifications and documentation are followed
  • Monitor packing line standards and identify quality concerns
  • Identify and report foreign body risks, packaging defects and labelling errors
  • Complete quality checks accurately in accordance with company procedures
  • Ensure relevant equipment is maintained and calibrated correctly
  • Support taste panels, shelf-life assessments and product checks
  • Communicate quality concerns with QA, Production and Line Leaders
  • Assist with investigations into non-conformances, quality issues and customer complaints
  • Support corrective actions and continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate QA, food safety and compliance records
  • Support the wider operation when required

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within Quality Assurance, Quality Control, fresh produce, food manufacturing or a similar environment
  • Fresh produce or soft fruit experience would be highly advantageous
  • HACCP Level 2 or above
  • Food Safety / Food Hygiene Level 2 or above 
  • NVQ Level 2 or above in Food Manufacturing, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fresh Produce or a related discipline 
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles, food safety, hygiene and quality standards
  • Understanding of traceability, non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Awareness of BRCGS, retailer standards or fresh produce assurance requirements would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence identifying and reporting quality issues
