Based in Livingston, Grw Talent's client comprises of a group of European companies engaged in the design, development, manufacture and distribution of analytical systems, life science equipment and laboratory instruments with operations dating back to 1920. Now part of a global multinational business, their fast growing multidisciplinary scientific and engineering Product & Applications team is looking to recruit a Product Specialist.
This is an exciting opportunity for a scientist with a passion for spectroscopy to apply their technical expertise in a customer-focused, commercial environment. Previous commercial experience is not required. As the first point of contact for technical sales support enquiries, you will provide expert advice on spectroscopy applications and instrument capabilities to customers, distributors and internal sales teams worldwide. You will play a key role in helping customers identify the most suitable solutions for their research and analytical requirements while collaborating closely with Development, Production and Operations teams to support bespoke system design and delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Answer product-related enquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues to find technical solutions to customer requests.
- Discuss technical and application requirements with potential customers.
- Liaise with Sales, Development and Production teams for bespoke (non-pricelist) requirements, ensuring that the quoted product is suitable for its application.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations on instruments and applications for training Sales staff and distributors.
- Work with the Product Manager in maintaining the price list, updating information regarding product cost and specifications when required.
- Measure customer samples, write test reports and perform instrument demos.
- Test new products for Development and feedback on product improvements.
- Provide technical content for marketing including brochures/datasheets, application and technical notes, and product videos.
- Flexibility to occasionally travel nationally and internationally to attend exhibitions and conferences, visit customer sites, and support sales teams and distributors.
Although primarily needed to work on site you will likely be able to work from home 1-2 days a week once established in role.
