Full time | Onsite
A great opportunity for a Machinist looking to take the next step into an office-based role!
Do you have a background in machining or heavy engineering and fancy moving away from the tools while still using your technical knowledge?
Elevation Recruitment Group are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive individual to join a busy production team, supporting manufacturing planning, job card routings and the smooth flow of work through the shop floor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on machining experience to transition into a more office-based position, using their understanding of manufacturing processes to help improve efficiency, planning and production performance.
The Role
Working closely with the Production Planning Lead, you’ll help ensure manufacturing operations run efficiently, with the right documentation, materials and resources in place to meet production deadlines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and managing route cards to identify efficient and cost-effective manufacturing methods.
- Liaising with programming teams to ensure accurate production routings.
- Issuing job documentation and work lists to the shop floor in a timely manner.
- Coordinating with Stores and Goods Inwards to ensure materials and kits are available when needed.
- Managing rework requirements and updating route sheets following non-conformance issues.
- Supporting production scheduling and ensuring workloads are balanced across work centres.
- Attending pre-production meetings to help determine the best manufacturing methods.
- Supporting the Sales team with accurate manufacturing costs and lead-time estimates.
What We’re Looking For
- A background in machining, CNC operations or heavy engineering, with an understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Someone keen to move into an office-based production planning or manufacturing support role.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Good IT skills and ideally experience using an ERP or MRP system.
- The ability to problem-solve, work independently and manage competing deadlines.
Experience scheduling CNC machining operations or external manufacturing services would be beneficial but is not essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step off the shop floor and into an office-based role without losing touch with the engineering industry you know. Your practical experience will be invaluable in understanding manufacturing requirements, identifying efficiencies and supporting production teams.
