Production Coordinator
Marshall Harmony
Walsall | £27,000 to £32,000 | 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday | 2:30pm Finish Friday | Profit Share | 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
I asked the Operations Manager why they were recruiting.
He laughed and said...
"At the minute, sales stick the order on a spreadsheet and throw it into production."
We both knew he was only half joking.
Because everyone in manufacturing knows what happens next.
One job jumps the queue.
Material hasn't arrived.
Production are waiting.
Customers start chasing.
Everyone's busy.
Nobody's actually coordinating it.
That's why this Production Coordinator role has been created.
Not because someone left.
Because the business has reached the point where they know they need somebody sitting in the middle, joining the dots.
As Production Coordinator, you'll be the link between Sales, Stores, Production and the customer.
Some material will arrive and go straight back out.
Some will need cutting and processing.
Some jobs will need sending out for subcontract work before coming back in.
Your job as Production Coordinator is making sure everyone knows what's happening, when it's happening and what needs to happen next.
It's not about sitting behind a desk updating spreadsheets all day.
It's about talking to people.
Walking the shop floor.
Checking machine capacity.
Understanding priorities.
Asking the questions before they become problems.
The Operations Manager is someone you'll enjoy working with.
He's honest.
He knows the business isn't perfect.
In his words, "We're a bit of a mess at the minute...but we're sorting it."
I actually think that'll appeal to the right person.
Because if you're the sort of Production Coordinator who enjoys making things run better, you'll have the chance to make a real difference here.
You'll probably recognise yourself...
* You've worked in manufacturing and understand how production flows.
* You're organised without needing to tell everyone you are.
* You enjoy speaking to people across the business rather than hiding behind emails.
* You spot problems before they become late deliveries.
* You get a real sense of satisfaction when everything comes together because you've planned it properly.
As Production Coordinator, you'll be joining a business that's part of a much larger engineering group, so whilst this site is still improving, there are genuine opportunities to develop your career over time.
What's in it for you?
* £27,000 to £32,000 depending on experience.
* Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm.
* 2:30pm finish every Friday.
* 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
* A genuinely attractive profit share scheme when the business hits target.
* A brand-new Production Coordinator role where your ideas will genuinely be listened to.
If you're looking for perfection, this probably isn't it.
If you're looking for a business that's honest about where it is, has a supportive Operations Manager and wants someone to help build something better...I'd love to tell you more.
