Production Engineering Manager

We are recruiting for an experienced Works Manager / Production Manager / Engineering Manager to join a well-established toolmaking and precision engineering company. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background and experience managing workshop production within a manufacturing environment.

This permanent day shift role offers stability, leadership responsibility, and the chance to oversee a skilled engineering team within a modern machining and tooling facility.

The Role

As Works Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring production runs efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing daily workshop production and engineering operations

• Leading and developing a team of engineers and technicians

• Ensuring Health & Safety and COSHH compliance

• Planning workflow, production schedules, and job priorities

• Managing labour, equipment, and materials

• Monitoring productivity, output, and quality KPIs

• Working closely with senior management to improve operational performance

Requirements

• Experience as a Works Manager, Production Manager, Engineering Manager, or Workshop Manager

• Strong engineering background (essential)

• Experience within toolmaking, precision engineering, CNC machining, or manufacturing

• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and COSHH

• Experience managing teams within a workshop or production environment

• Strong organisational and leadership skills
