Production & Logistics Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Production & Logistics Manager to oversee factory operations involved in the manufacture, stock control, and dispatch of aluminium windows, doors, and curtain walling systems.

This role offers a high level of autonomy, with the opportunity to implement process improvements and bring new ideas to enhance operational performance across the factory. You will be responsible for ensuring production, stores, and logistics operate efficiently and in alignment with installation programmes and customer delivery requirements. Working through an existing management structure, you will take a data-driven, performance-focused approach to improve productivity and overall factory performance.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Operations

- Plan, schedule, and manage production to meet delivery and installation timelines.

- Coordinate workflows across cutting, machining, assembly, glazing, QC, and dispatch.

- Balance labour, materials, and machinery to maximise output and efficiency.

- Monitor capacity and proactively manage risks to delivery.

Factory, Stores & Logistics

- Oversee stock control, goods in, and dispatch through existing management teams.

- Ensure smooth coordination between production, stores, and installation functions.

- Maintain stock accuracy, material flow, and dispatch readiness.

- Drive improvements in factory organisation, efficiency, and communication.

Technical & Quality

- Manage production using aluminium systems (e.g. Comar, Senior, Technal).

- Interpret technical drawings and ensure high fabrication standards.

- Implement and maintain quality control processes.

- Investigate and resolve defects, driving a “right first time” culture.

Leadership & People Management

- Lead and support supervisors, team leaders, and logistics managers.

- Allocate labour effectively and manage performance, training, and development.

- Promote a positive, accountable, and safety-focused working environment.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

- Use KPIs and operational data to drive decision-making and efficiency.

- Develop production tracking and time recording systems.

- Analyse productivity, labour utilisation, and waste to identify improvements.

- Lead initiatives to improve quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Health & Safety

- Ensure full compliance with H&S legislation and safe working practices.

- Promote strong safety culture and high housekeeping standards.

Skills & Experience

Essential

- Proven experience in production and logistics within a manufacturing management.

- Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, schedules, and technical specifications  accurately

- Strong data-driven approach using KPIs and operational reporting.

- Experience with production tracking or labour monitoring systems.

- Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

- Aluminium windows, doors, or curtain walling experience.

- Knowledge of systems such as Comar, Senior, or Technal.

- Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma exposure.

- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.

What’s on offer:

- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm (early finish Fridays, 3:15pm)

- Salary: Available on request / application

- Holiday allowance: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 28 days after 5 years' service, with the opportunity to earn up to 3 additional days for excellent attendance.
