Production Operative

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Production Operative to join our team in a busy steel manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating overhead cranes safely and efficiently (valid overhead crane experience/certification required).
• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) to move steel products and materials.
• Loading, unloading, and transporting steel throughout the production facility.
• Handling steel products using appropriate lifting equipment and following safe working practices.
• Assisting with production processes to ensure customer orders are completed on time.
• Carrying out quality checks and reporting any defects.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Following all company health and safety procedures.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience working in the steel or heavy manufacturing industry.
• Experience operating an overhead crane.
• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence.
• Experience in material handling and moving heavy steel products.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality work.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Experience working to production targets.
• Flexible approach to shifts and overtime where required.
