Production Operative / Machine Operator

We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative / Machine Operator to join our client in a busy manufacturing environment based in Rainham, Essex.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fine grinding components to single-micron tolerances, ensuring all work meets the required quality and specification standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and operating machinery
• Setting tools, including deburring tools, reamers and grinding wheels
• Measuring finished components accurately against specifications
• Recording measurements using computerised SPC systems
• Monitoring OEE and production performance
• Maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail
• Following all health and safety procedures at all times

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years’ relevant manufacturing experience or training
• Experience working to close tolerances
• Previous machining, grinding or precision manufacturing experience is desirable
• Computer literate and comfortable using computerised systems
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Well organised and able to work effectively under pressure
• Strong understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment

Working Hours & Pay

£14.30 per hour

Monday to Friday rotating shift pattern (You must be available for all 3 shift patterns)

• 06:00–14:00
• 14:00–22:00
• 22:00–06:00
