Meridian Business Support are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Production Operative to join a busy and growing manufacturing team in Chandlers Ford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on individual with mechanical assembly experience who enjoys working with engineering components and takes pride in producing high-quality products.
The Role
As a Production Operative, you will be responsible for assembling, testing and preparing industrial equipment to the highest standards. Working from engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions, you will play a key role in ensuring products are built safely, accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble products using engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
- Build and fit mechanical components including engines, electric motors, pump units, bearings and fuel systems.
- Use overhead cranes, hoists and lifting equipment safely.
- Complete vacuum and water testing procedures.
- Carry out quality inspections and identify non-conforming parts.
- Complete job cards and manufacturing documentation accurately.
- Prepare finished products for inspection and dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and safe working practices.
About You
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience within a mechanical assembly, manufacturing or production environment.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical assembly skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and lifting equipment would be advantageous.
