HOURS: 14:30 – 22:30 Monday – Friday 37.5 hours /week
PAY: £12.71 hour plus £4.00 / day shift bonus

JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor the purpose of this role is to produce high quality product to customer specification in both a safe and timely manner.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Working on production lines you will complete various tasks including packing meals into boxes and palletising, hand weighing raw materials, using sealing and wrapping machines, feeding the line with trays and raw materials.
- Responsible for checking correct dates are shown, correct raw materials are being used, product quality, seals on trays etc.
- Assist with ensuring that the production plan is delivered on a daily basis.
- Ensure that all work instructions and procedures are followed.
- Some roles will require completion of paperwork.
- Ensure all waste is minimised.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and ‘clean as you go’.
- Liaise with other departments where necessary to ensure that the business needs are met.
- Ensure that you understand, follow and observe the company Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP), particularly ensuring your area follows ‘clean as you go’.
- Ensure that you and any staff around you, observe relevant health & safety standards at all times, and stop/ escalate any occasions of unsafe practice. Report immediately any unsafe tools, equipment or practices.
- Adherence to all relevant Technical KPIs of food safety and quality, including allergen controls, micro standards, Good Manufacturing Procedures, and food safety culture.
- Ensure all tasks carried out appropriately and you can competently explain your role/responsibilities to any visitors/auditors.
- Work together with all colleagues in the business, treating everyone with trust and respect. Support, train and guide new starters and agency workers as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Good communication skills and ability to work as a team.
- Being able to perform repetitive tasks.
- Proactively work with and provide support and assistance to supervisors and other members of the team.
- To recognise, challenge and raise concerns to managers / supervisors if there is an issue with the product or machinery.
- Previous experience of a Production Operative role preferably in a fast paced food environment.
- Must have an excellent employment record.
- Must be self-motivated, proactive and have the ability to use own initiative.
- Must be able to work to tight deadlines.
- Completion of the COSHH and chemical handling training would be an advantage however full training will be given.
- Manual handling and lifting are involved in this role.
