Production Operator

Orion Group

We are currently recruiting for a Production Operator to join our manufacturing client at their Inverness site, working within the Globe operation.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in manufacturing, production or a continuous operating environment to join an established team and play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the plant.

You will ideally be qualified to Higher Education level, or have relevant experience gained within a similar production or process environment.

As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring plant and machinery, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and supporting the smooth running of your area.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Safely operating and maintaining plant and machinery in line with company standards and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Monitoring equipment and operating parameters, maintaining accurate logs and escalating abnormalities, deviations or process interruptions as required.
  • Completing production and quality records in accordance with the relevant QA procedures and manuals.
  • Carrying out routine equipment checks and supporting maintenance activities, including ensuring Planned Maintenance is completed in line with manufacturer recommendations.
  • Monitoring and maintaining fire-fighting equipment in conjunction with the Fire Team Leader.
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and ensuring your working area remains safe, clean and well organised for employees and visitors.
  • Working closely with other departments to support the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the area.
  • Supporting the development and review of hazard identification, risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), ensuring these remain appropriate when tasks, methods or hazards change.
  • Following all operational EHS procedures and ensuring incidents and concerns are reported promptly and appropriately.
  • Contributing to a strong culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
About You:
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or continuous process environment.
  • A relevant Higher Education qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental (EHS) requirements.
  • The ability to monitor equipment, identify issues and respond appropriately to process deviations.
  • A methodical approach to record keeping and following established procedures.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different departments.
  • A proactive approach to maintaining safe working practices and high operational standards.
This is a great opportunity to join an established manufacturing operation in Inverness, where you will be part of a team responsible for maintaining safe, reliable and efficient production.

If you have experience in a production or process environment and are looking for your next permanent opportunity, we'd be keen to hear from you.
