Title: Production Planner (long term temp)
Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 (Mon – Fri)
Location: Eastbourne
Pay: £30K - £34K yearly


You will be responsible for:
  • Developing and maintaining effective factory production plans in line with customer demand and available capacity.
  • Monitoring production activity and ensuring customer order deadlines and promised delivery dates are achieved.
  • Managing production capacity and workload to balance demand and supply effectively.
  • Coordinating with production teams and Team Leaders to ensure plans are delivered efficiently.
  • Providing accurate production information to Customer Service, Logistics, Procurement and Shop Floor teams to support delivery, labour and materials planning.
  • Responding to changes in customer demand and expediting requirements while maintaining stability across the production environment.
  • Managing production exceptions, including machine breakdowns, material shortages, test failures and resource constraints, and developing appropriate recovery plans.
  • Supporting effective inventory control across the factory and warehouses while maintaining high customer service levels and controlling supply chain costs.
  • Monitoring and reporting production output, factory delivery performance and key planning measures.
  • Investigating delivery failures and identifying root causes to support continuous improvement.
  • Supporting new product introductions and ensuring effective production planning for new items.
  • Maintaining and reviewing production capacity and planning parameters within the relevant planning systems.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of factory planning processes and resolving planning-related issues.
  • Acting as an effective link between internal departments and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication.
  • Working closely with the wider Materials and Supply Chain teams to optimise manufacturing performance and customer service.

About You

The successful candidate will have:
  • 5+ years' relevant experience within manufacturing, production planning, materials or supply chain.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally with an understanding of semiconductor manufacturing or the wider semiconductor industry.
  • Strong knowledge of operations management, factory planning and supply chain processes.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to manage complex production requirements.
  • Strong experience using SAP or another ERP system.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with complex data and analytical information.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a methodical and accurate approach to data entry and planning.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and changing requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, managers and external stakeholders across a global environment.
  • The ability to work proactively, analyse problems and make informed decisions to keep production and customer commitments on track.
