Supporting both the Civil and Military markets in the UK, Ireland and across sub-Saharan Africa, the company's UK facility in Fareham is the European Maintenance Centre Hub (EMCH) for the Safran Helicopter Engines group, performing level 1 to 3 maintenance/repairs on Arriel, Arrius, Makila and RTM322 engines either onsite or at our customers' facilities.

Alongside the EMCH and with a broad customer base in both the fixed wing and rotary wing markets, Safran's experienced team of technical and support staff are also committed to delivering excellence in the Manufacturing, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of complex products such as air starters, air producers, auxiliary power units and oil pumps. We are very focused on delivering these products and services to meet all our customer requirements with particular attention to turnaround time performance.

Working within a manufacturing environment, the New Production Planning Apprentice will support the facilitation of the output plan whilst working alongside a team of three Production Planners. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a broad understanding of production planning within a global aerospace organisation whilst studying towards a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with PETA Training.

Throughout the 15-month programme, you will learn the principles of business goals, Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP), Rough Cut Capacity Planning, Master Production Scheduling and Material Resource Planning. You will gain exposure to how Planning interacts with both internal and external customers to ensure successful delivery of the production plan.

This role offers hands-on experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, providing the foundations for a long-term career within Supply Chain and Production Planning.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Planning team in facilitating and maintaining the production output plan.
  • Learn and apply the principles of Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP).
  • Gain experience in Rough Cut Capacity Planning, Master Production Scheduling and Material Resource Planning.
  • Act as a main point of contact for a Safran customer.
  • Attend internal and external meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Produce and maintain production job packs.
  • Update and administer changes to the production plan.
  • Work closely with internal teams to support delivery against customer requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of business objectives and production planning processes.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external customers to support delivery of the plan.

  • Methodical approach to work.

Desirable:

  • GCSE English and Maths Grade 4-9 (A*-C) or equivalent.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.
