Production Shift Manager in Tuxford

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a well-established manufacturer in to recruit an experienced Shift Manager to join their facility in Newark. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for people, safety and performance across a busy production operation.

You’ll lead from the front, supporting your team to achieve production targets while improving quality, efficiency, cost and operational standards.

Salary: £53,000
Hours: 4on, 4off days/nights

Key Responsibilities of the Shift Manager include:

• Plan, coordinate and lead all shift activities to deliver production targets safely and efficiently
• Manage labour and resources to meet operational requirements and agreed KPIs
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across the operation
• Support, coach and develop team members, building capability and accountability across the shift
• Manage performance, attendance and other people-related matters effectively
• Promote a continuous improvement culture and encourage employees to contribute ideas
• Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs, energy consumption and production waste
• Improve product quality, yield and right-first-time performance
• Work closely with maintenance and technical teams to minimise disruption and improve plant performance

We’re keen to speak with Shift Managers with the following skills & experience:

• Previous experience leading teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• A strong understanding of health and safety within an operational setting
• Experience managing production targets, KPIs, labour and operational performance
• The ability to build effective teams and manage conflict confidently
• A practical, proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively at every level
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Confidence using IT systems to monitor and report performance
• IOSH Managing Safely would be advantageous
